When your 5-year-old daughter wants her princess room redecorated, you’ll want to transition it from a toddler room to a big girl room that can last for years to come.
Of course, little girls and big girls love fancy, romantic, fairy tale beds – how about a canopy bed? Or, if she is more of a tomboy, try a bunkbed set for sleepovers.
When you are moving from child/youth furniture to a more grown-up look, adding an upholstered chair to her room is a fantastic place to begin. Every growing girl loves to relax, chat on the phone, or read in a comfy setting away from the bustle of her parents. :)
In fact, AHFA recently conducted a survey of teens and tweens and a sofa/chair was the number one piece of furniture that they would like to add to their room.
But whatever you choose, remember that children spend a great deal of time in their rooms – playing, studying, and sleeping – so choose furniture that fits your child's physical needs but also his or her dreams.
